FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT'S ALLEN-LAMBE HOUSE

"Nature is my manifestation of God. I go to nature every day for inspiration in the day's work. I follow in building the principles which nature has used in its domain" - Frank Lloyd Wright

As might be expected the town square at Fox Ridge will be quite different than the ones created for the previous four parks that have a square.  The first building I am showing here was actually the second one completed on the square but because it is more multi-purpose I thought I would show it first.

I decided not to try and recreate or represent a particular example of Wright's Prairie Style with this building but rather to simply create a structure that tried to represent it in general so this is not a duplication of the Allen-Lambe house I used a photo of the Allen-Lambe House because it has a very good representation of the over all style.

This building takes some strong inspiration from the Joseph Husser House which was actually a forerunner to Wright's Prairie Style houses.

From a rooftop across the street we can see the entire front facade.

As with the entrance using obscured light sources is important to light the buildings without detracting from them.

View of the water fall from the veranda.
